4 x AWWWard for Solar Weekend Festival Website
The Solar Festival website was highly acclaimed at the prestigious AWWWARDS, with Gewest13 winning no fewer than four awards for this anniversary website.
AWWWARDS is recognized as one of the leading global competitions for design and development. An international jury evaluates submissions daily, selecting the best and most compelling websites of the moment. While Gewest13 had previously won a Site of the Day award for the Labyrint website and earned multiple honorable mentions, this is the first time they have been rewarded with four awards.
The website was created to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Solar Weekend Festival. Solar is a four-day celebration of art, stunning constructions, theater, and, of course, great music, brought to life annually by hundreds of creatives. The aim was to capture this special atmosphere in an online environment. Given Solar’s relatively young audience, a strong mobile experience was also essential.
Great photography and video content were key to the project’s success, as is often the case for any web or print initiative. Additionally, significant time was invested in sleek design, smooth transitions, subtle micro-animations, and playful boomerangs to infuse the site with character.
